Costume Wars is a timed event in which teams of two are provided with a sack of unknown and somewhat random materials. Teams are then expected to make something wonderful out of them in just one hour.
Each team will consist of two persons with an optional third, non-participating person to act as a model/dressmaker’s dummy only. The third person cannot help build the costume but can and should be dressed in the newly created attire and expected to show it off. A third is not required and if no third person is present one or both of the two builders will need to wear the creation.

Costume Wars takes place Friday of the convention 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm of the convention in the Holodeck(6 th floor of the Hyatt RegencyMinneapolis).
Participate in Costume Wars
Do you have a flare for creativity? Thrive under pressure? Costume Wars is for you!
To participate in Costume Wars, you must register before 01:00pm on the Friday of the convention. You must do this at the Masquerade Registration table just outside CONvergence MainStage.
Costume Wars Registration Table Hours
Thursday 3:00pm – 6:00pm
Friday 10:00am – 1:00pm
The number of teams is limited to 25, so register early to guarantee yourself a spot. All participating teams in Costume Wars must check in at the Holodeck on Friday no later than 15 minutes prior to the competition for a short orientation, or your spot in Costume Wars may be given away to a
team on the waiting list.
Additional Details
Teams will show off their entry for a chance to gain applause and adulation as well as compete for 1st , 2nd and 3rd place in a judged competition. Within the materials provided will be things to cut with and things to fasten with; please do not bring your own scissors, glue, needle, thread, string, tape, etc.
