Volunteer shift sign-up for CONvergence 2022: Your Reality May Vary is currently live and volunteers are needed!
Volunteer for Move-In
In particular, CONvergence needs volunteers to sign up for move-in and set-up shifts, and Registration shifts, on Sunday-Wednesday. This includes but is not limited to helping Cinema Rex move all of their couches into the hotel on Monday morning!
CONvergence is offering double volunteer hours for all shifts Sunday-Wednesday. You can exchange volunteer hours you earn for Volunteer Thank-You Gifts such as a CONvergence volunteer T-shirt, bike repair kit, zipped portfolio, travel bag, and more.

Like a CONvergence member on Facebook pointed out this week, CONvergence is completely, totally run by volunteer labor of its members. It is a convention that only exists because we want it to exist enough to make sure it exists. Therefore, if we want to keep this party going, then we all have to help put the party together and take it apart once it’s all done.
If you are not sure where you would like to volunteer, or if you just love the novelty of rolling the dice, you can always sign up for “Volunteer at Large” shifts. Anybody signed up as a “Volunteer at Large” will get an email to assign you to volunteer where you are most needed during your shift.
Volunteer During CONvergence
Shifts for all sorts of volunteer positions are also available for the entire convention, and members are needed to staff vital and well-loved CONvergence departments such as ConSuite, Registration, Gaming, Harmonic CONvergence, The Grove, Nerf Herders, and, well, everywhere to help the convention run. Even the Volunteers department needs help to staff the Volunteers Table and get members their Volunteer Thank-You Gifts!
If there is something at CONvergence that you really appreciate, or if you just really appreciate CONvergence generally, then please help to make it happen. Being part of making CONvergence happen is part of being a member of the CONvergence community. It is one of those things that makes CONvergence a different, and valuable sort of event—CONvergence is not a corporate for-profit event. CONvergence is, literally, us.
Shifts may get added to SignUpGenius right up to the convention, so in addition to grabbing your preferred volunteer shifts early, it’s a great idea to check back during the week of CONvergence 2022 as well! Or, if you have some downtime during CONvergence itself, don’t hesitate to pop over to SignUpGenius and grab an open shift!
Hotel Rooms Still Available For CONvergence 2022

Caffeinate to support CONvergence
Velasquez Family Coffee has added CONvergence to its fundraiser coffees! Now, when you purchase your small-batch, Minnesota-roasted coffee beans, a portion of the proceeds can benefit CONvergence. This fundraiser will help pay for things such as the Volunteers party, and other CONvergence initiatives that took a difficult financial hit as a result of the pandemic. Simply select “CONvergence” as the fundraiser you would like to support at check-out!
There will also be a limited amount of coffee available for purchase at CONvergence Merchandise during the convention, but arrive early if you want to score some there because once it’s gone, it’s gone!
