Publications (Pubs) creates a number of individual items for CONvergence, including Progress Reports, the Souvenir Book, and the Programming Grid/Guide. All of the graphics and signage seen around the convention are created by Pubs.
CONvergence Artwork
Most CONvergence Artwork features our robot mascot Connie, and is drawn by Connie’s creator Christopher Jones. Artwork has also been provided by Louis Frank, Holly Spotts, and others over the years, including contributions by former Guests of Honor John Kovalic, Andrew Probert, and Ruth Thompson.
We are always open to submissions of artwork for our publications. Artwork should be family friendly – “PG” content only, no “R” rated or adult content.
Artwork is NOT required to feature Connie. Additional CONvergence icons include Connie Mark 2 (Connie’s evil younger “sister”), Professor Max (Connie’s mad scientist creator), and Sparky (Connie’s robotic dog).
We like to have CONvergence artwork (like our programming) reflect the broad spectrum of genres and formats that CONvergence encompasses. We are especially interested in artwork that ties in to our annual convention theme. Every piece of artwork does not need to be a joke or a gag but we prefer artwork that does something clever in its presentation beyond simply being portraiture, or being of the “clip art” variety featuring spaceships and dragons.
We do NOT pay for artwork, but if we use your art we will credit the artist appropriately. DO NOT send original artwork to CONvergence. Contact Publications about sending a scan or digital art file.
Advertising with Us
CONvergence accepts advertising for our Souvenir Book, which is given to every attending member of the convention, currently around 5,000 people. The deadline to submit ads is May 15 of the convention year.
Our ad rates are affordable for anyone with an interest in connecting with fans of science fiction, fantasy and horror. Businesses, dealers, and fan groups can reach thousands of people with their ads and contact information.
CONvergence retains the right of refusal for any ad or advertiser. If you have any questions about our content and format requirements, or need help creating your ad, please contact us.
