Sure! We've made an agreement with www.convention-reg.com to handle online registrations. Have your credit card handy, and they'll take care of all your needs!
Can I use a credit card to register?
For preregistration, only online. CONvergence will be accepting credit cards for At-the-door registration in 2010, along with cash and checks.
I have a question...who can answer it?
There are many people who could help answer your question; librarians, scientists, possibly even your local teacher. But if you have a question on CONvergence Registration, your best bet is to contact Registration at registration@convergence-con.org to resolve the question.
I got this postcard in the mail...what is it?
The postcard is sent to all paid members. You can use it at the con to expedite registration; a separate area is set aside to deal with postcards (be prepared to show the postcard and the ID).
Why should I pre-register?
Well, for one, you'll get the best possible price. Second, for peace of mind. It'll help you sleep, and you'll be healthier. And after all, if you don't have your health, you don't have anything.
Where will I find Registration at the convention?
The Registration Desk is in the a whole new location!!! We will be in Shipside, which is just down the hall from Stevie Rays (The location from last year). If you go to the hotel desk, and look left, you'll see us.

You can buy a "Guest of" membership (e.g. Guest of John Doe).
Dang! I lost my badge!
Well, Seppuku seems a little extreme, so let's just go with stopping by Operations and see if anyone turned it in. If not, wander over to Registration and we can issue you a new one. We will need to see some ID, and there is a small fee.
Can I purchase a membership at the convention?
Stop by the nice people at Registration, and be prepared with the Registration Fee and your Driver's license. They will set you up with a badge, badge clip, book, schedule, and all of the other amenities needed to enjoy your con!
How can I find out if my registration has been processed?
If you get a Postcard, your registration is processed. Otherwise, you can contact the fine, friendly folks at registration@convergence-con.org.
Does CONvergence offer Day Passes?
We do NOT offer Day Passes for a number of reasons. The biggest is that day passes would make it EASIER for people to make a last minute decision to attend the convention, or only part of the convention. We are trying to drive the opposite behavior. In recent years, the number of at-the-door registrations have been going up and up, making it more challenging to effectively budget and plan for the number of attendees at the convention. Similarly, people often ask if they could pay a reduced rate to attend only live music, MainStage events, or some other element of the convention. It is not our intention to sell off the convention piecemeal. It's a package deal. We would much rather have our membership pre-register, and be a part of the whole convention. CONvergence memberships ARE transferable, so you do have options if you find you are unable to attend.

My company is transferring me to Outer Mongolia. Can I get a refund on the membership I paid for?
Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds for memberships but we will help you transfer the membership to someone else. Here's how:
Step 1. Find find someone who will buy the membership from you (or be deeply grateful for the gift.)
Step 2. Send a email to the registration department with:
- Your name and address
- The name and address of the new owner
- Badge name for the new owner
I'm only going to be there Friday Night - how much does a Day Badge cost?
Full Registration rate, same as downtown. OK, the serious answer is that we don't have Day Badges. It costs the same to attend for one day as it does for four.
I am a volunteer, and I need my badge early on Thursday morning, what do I do?
Registration will open on Wednesday from 3PM to 6PM just for volunteers.
I am not going to arrive before 11PM on Friday, and I have a party to be at. How do I get my badge?
Unfortunately Registration is not open 24/7. However, for limited hours After-Hours Registration staff will be available on the Operations Bridge (Verandas 6 & 8) when Registration is closed. We do ask that you try to visit Registration during regular hours if possible.

Can I change my Badge Name?
Yes, you can change your Badge Name at the Con for a small fee of $10.00

How do I transfer a membership?
Send an email to the registration department with
- Your name and address
- The name and address of the new owner
- Badge Name for the new owner
How do I check that I am registered?
If you register early in the convention year, then your Progress Reports and other mailings will have a ® symbol next to your name. Shortly before the convention, we send out postcards to all those who are registered. And finally, you can always email registration@convergence-con.org and ask (politely).
