The Midwest Sci-Fi Short Film Festival accepts film submissions 20 minutes in length or shorter in the following genres: Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Horror, Action/Adventure, Supernatural, Comedy, and/or Documentary.
Call For Submissions: Midwest Sci-Fi Short Film Festival
The 4th Annual Midwest Sci-Fi Short Film Festival is now open for submissions for 2013. The festival accepts film submissions 20 minutes in length or shorter in the following Genres: Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Horror, Action/Adventure, Supernatural, Comedy and/or Documentary. Festival and Submission Rules
All entries must be original works created by the filmmaker.
There is no entry fee for any submission.
No Entries will be accepted after 11:59 pm CT, May 10th, 2013.
Filmmakers sending submissions must be a legal resident one of the following U.S. states: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota or Wisconsin.
Entries submitted must be in one or more of the following genres: Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror, Action/Adventure or Supernatural. Comedies set within any of these genres will also be accepted.
All Entries must be accompanied by a completed Festival Entry Form and signed by the filmmaker.
Entries must be 20 minutes or less in total running time (including titles and credits).
Entries must be submitted via the following formats:
- Preferred Method: A link to the Entry on a website (Vimeo, Youtube, etc). If the video is not available for public view, make sure you provide the password to view the video. Or a link for download of the file.
- Alternate Methods: A copy of the digital file on disc or a playable DVD (NTSC, Standard Definition, Region 0 or 1).
Entries must meet the stated Festival and Submission Rules or they will be refused. If an entry does not meet these rules, the filmmaker will be notified via Email and allowed to resubmit the corrected entry by the contest deadline (11:59 CDT on May 10, 2013).
By entering the Festival, and signing the Entry Form, the Filmmaker grants the following non-exclusive, irrevocable licenses to the Festival, as part of CONvergence or other events conducted by the Festival in perpetuity: to screen (at Festival’s discretion) the entry, via any form or media; limited publishing for promotional purposes of the name of the filmmaker and plot synopsis of the Entry.
Entries submitted are NOT guaranteed to be screened. Screened entries will be chosen at the discretion of the Festival Director.
All DVDs submitted will become the property of the Festival and will not be returned, unless accompanied by a self-addressed, postage-paid envelope of appropriate size.
Filmmaker will hold harmless the Festival, its assigns, partners, subsidiaries and its sponsors and CONvergence Events, its assigns, partners, subsidiaries and its sponsors from any liability resulting from any screening of the Entry.
